The National Payments Corporation of India, (NPCI) on September 23, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Auto-replenishment of NETC FASTag and RuPay NCMC with UPI Autopay.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced an enhancement to the e-mandate framework for auto-replenishment of balances in NETC FASTag and RuPay NCMC cards. Customers can now set auto-replenishment triggers when balances drop below a certain threshold, without requiring a 24-hour Pre-Debit Notification (PDN). This update, issued in an RBI circular dated August 22, 2024, applies to UPI Autopay for specific merchant categories. UPI members must ensure compliance, and the auto-replenishment process is restricted to the intended use for NETC FASTag and RuPay NCMC cards.
