The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, (TRAI), on September 26, 2024, issued Whitelisted URLs, APKS, or OTT links for SMS Traffic.
All Access Providers to block messages containing URLs, APKs, or OTT links that are not whitelisted by October 1, 2024. Registered senders must upload their links to the Access Providers’ portals for approval, with over 70,000 links already whitelisted by more than 3,000 senders. This initiative aims to protect consumers from malicious links while promoting secure messaging. Senders who do not whitelist their links by the deadline will be unable to send such messages.
