The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on September 24, 2024, notified regarding the Implementation of Section 12A of Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005: Updates to UNSC’s 1718 Sanctions List of Designated Individuals and Entities.
The following has been stated:
• Follow the procedure as mentioned in the Ministry of Finance Order F. No. P12011/14/2022-ES Cell-DOR, dated January 30 2023 detailing the procedures for the implementation of Section 12A of Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005.
• The Participants should scan all existing accounts to ensure that no account is held by or linked to any of the entities or individuals included in the list and also ascertain the same for future accounts as well (as per SEBI Circular ‘Procedure for implementation of Section 12A of the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005 – Directions to stock exchanges and registered intermediaries’ dated April 26, 2023).
