The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCF) on September 24, 2024, issued the Flame- Producing Lighters (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 to further amend the Flame further- Producing Lighters (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
The following amendments have been stated:
• in sub-paragraph (2), for the words “Provided that nothing”, the word “Nothing” shall be substituted;
• in sub-paragraph (3), for the words “Provided further that nothing”, the word “Nothing” shall be substituted;
• after the sub-paragraph (3), the following sub-paragraph shall be inserted, namely:-
(4) Nothing in this Order shall apply to goods or articles domestically manufactured or imported before the date of commencement of this Order by the manufacturer certified by the Bureau or manufacturer who has applied to the Bureau for certification or by the importer of such goods and articles and such manufacturer or importer shall be permitted to sell or display or offer to sell such declared stock up to six months from the date of commencement of the Flame- Producing Lighters (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 subject to the condition that such manufacturer or importer shall make a declaration to this effect certified by a Charted accountant to the Bureau.
It shall come into force on September 24, 2024.
