The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on September 30, 2024, notified regarding the digitization of Customs Bonded Warehouse procedures relating to obtaining Warehouse License, Bond to Bond Movement of warehoused goods, and uploading of Monthly Returns.
The following has been stated namely: -
• A Warehouse Module on ICEGATE has been introduced to facilitate ease of doing business in respect of the Customs Bonded Warehouses, it enables online filling of applications for obtaining a Warehouse License, online submission and processing of requests for transfer of warehoused goods to another person or another warehouse, and uploading monthly returns.
• It provides the warehouse licensing procedure that applicants shall file for a warehouse license online through the ICEGATE portal, using the specified port code for their Customs Zone.
• It states that licensees shall file two monthly returns: Form A, detailing the receipt, storage, operations, and removal of goods, and Form B, listing warehoused goods with expiring warehousing periods.
