Commercial Compliance The Department of Transport, Govt. of West Bengal on October 03, 2024, notified regarding the specifications required for vehicles to be registered as "Metered Taxis”.

It states that vehicles with a seating capacity of 4+1 including the driver, engine capacity of 900cc to 1150cc, fuel used is petrol/diesel/CNG or body type is hatch-back/sedan, shall be allowed to be registered as "Metered Taxis" (both AC and Non-AC variant).
