Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on September 03, 2024, notified regarding the Procedure & Requirements for Pre-Arrival Notification of Security (PANS) to Enter the Indian Port Facilities.

The following has been stated:

• The reporting requirement of PANS apply to the following vessels on international voyages entering Indian waters, vessels trading in coastal waters or coasting between Indian Ports:

o Passenger ships, including high-speed passenger crafts;

o Cargo ships, including high-speed craft of 500 GT and above;

o Mobile offshore drilling units; and

o Pleasure Yachts

o Sailing Vessel

• General Requirements for submission of PANS:

o The PANS should be submitted to the concerned port and the relevant regional authority specified under Table 1 at least 96 hours prior to the arrival of the vessel at any Port in India.

o If the voyage of the vessel is shorter than 96 hours, the PANS may be submitted within 2 hours of departure from the last port.
