The Government of Goa on October 07, 2024, issued a notification regarding the empowerment of the Appellate Tribunal to Assess Price Reductions under GST.
The following has been stated: -
•Under the Goa Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and in line with the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, the government empowers the Principal Bench of the Appellate Tribunal to assess if input tax credits or tax rate reductions have led to corresponding price reductions in goods or services supplied by registered persons. This action follows recommendations from the Goods and Services Tax Council.
This notification shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from October 01, 2024.
