Labour ComplianceThe Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on October 03, 2024, issued the guidelines for the Prime Minister's Internship Scheme - Pilot Project (Financial Year 2024-25).

The following has been stated namely: -

• It targets to provide 1.25 lakh internship opportunities for FY 2024-25 in top companies identified based on the average CSR expenditure of the last three years.

• It states that the internship duration shall be 12 months where half of the internship period must be spent in the actual working environment and not in the classrooms.

• It further states the eligibility criteria for the internship that the candidates shall be aged between 21 and 24 years as of the last date for submission of applications.

• It provides provision for monthly financial assistance that interns shall receive monthly assistance of Rs. 5,000 for the entire 12-month internship, with Rs. 500 paid by the company and Rs. 4,500 transferred by the government through Direct Benefit Transfer. Additionally, a one-time grant of Rs. 6,000 for incidentals will be disbursed by the government upon joining the internship.

• It also provides the implementation mechanism of the scheme enclosed as Annexure I in the attached document.
