The Revenue Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh on September 30, 2024, issued the Prohibition and Excise Policy for Disposal and Allotment of Shops for the period 2024-26.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the privilege to sell IMFL and FL in shops shall be granted to private individuals/entities through a public application process, with licenses valid from October 12, 2024, to September 30, 2026.
• It states that applicants shall submit multiple applications for one or more shops, with each application requiring a non-refundable fee of Rs. 2 lakhs.
• It provides retail excise tax rates for different population slabs for the license period 2024-25, and the annual retail excise tax shall be increased by 10% for 2025-26.
• It further specifies certain areas in Tirupathi where shops shall not be permitted on the road such as Tirupathi Railway Station to Alipiri via RTC Bus Stand, Leelamahal Circle, Nandi Circle, Vishnu Nivasam, etc.
