The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D) on October 10, 2024, issued an amendment to an older notification no. S.O. 1495 (E), dated June 10, 2014, related to the procedure for import of “Live-stock”.
The following has been stated:
• In the Schedule, in paragraph 1, which states “Procedure for import of live animals into India”, for the proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:
“Provided that a pet dog or pet cat as permitted under the applicable baggage rules shall be allowed to be imported through Cochin International Airport, Kochi under the jurisdiction of Animal Quarantine and Certification Station in Chennai.”
