The Government of Maharashtra on October 11, 2024, issued the Maharashtra installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system based on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) at the licensed premises Order, 2024.
The following provisions have been stated:
• Every licensee holding FL-II, FL-II/E.O. and FL- II/S.P.O., license granted under the Rules except a defence unit, shall at the entrance of licensed premises install Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system based on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) with the specifications as specified in the Schedule, by the procedure, phases & period of implementation as prescribed by the State Government from time to time.
• Every licensee holding FL-III license granted under the Rules operating within the area of any Municipal Corporation or within the area of the Police Commissioner shall at the entrance of licensed premises install Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system based on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) with the specifications as specified in the Schedule, by the procedure, phases & period of implementation as prescribed by the State Government from time to time.
o Every licensee holding FL-III license granted under the Rules operating outside the area mentioned in sub-clause (1) and having subsidiary licenses related to the FL-III license granted under the Maharashtra Police Act (XXII of 1951) shall at the entrance of licensed premises install, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system based on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) with the specifications as specified in the Schedule, by the procedure, phases & period of implementation as prescribed by the State Government from time to time.
• The license holders shall ensure the following pre-requisites at their premises:-
o An adequate space to install CCTV and all associated equipment.
o A broadband stable wired internet connection of at least 10 Mbps.
o Uninterrupted Power supply.
o The installed Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system based on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) feed shall be transmitted to the Command and Control Centre set up by the Commissioner, State Excise.
• The Commissioner shall establish a Command and Control Centre for receiving feeds or alerts from each license premises at his office to oversee the implementation and to monitor the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system based on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) installed at licensed premises.
