The University Grants Commission (UGC) on October 14, 2024, issued a notification inviting applications from eligible Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for recognition to offer programmes under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and/or Online mode for the academic year 2024-25, the academic session beginning February 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Online portal for submitting applications shall remain open from October 15, 2024, to October 31, 2024.
• The HEI shall apply at https://deb.ugc.ac.in/ and ensure that a certified hard copy of the application, along with the original affidavit and annexure, reaches the Joint Secretary, Distance Education Bureau, UGC, New Delhi, by November 15, 2024.
• It further states that eligible HEIs recognized by UGC for ODL and/or online programs for the 2024-25 academic year may apply for additional program recognition, while deemed universities shall obtain AICTE's prior approval before applying to UGC DEB.
