Labour ComplianceThe Government of Goa on October 15, 2024, issued the notification regarding October 20, 2024 being declared as a paid holiday.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Government has declared Sunday, on October 20, 2024 as a paid holiday being the ‘Polling day’ 

• This is due to the bye election of ward no.7 of village Panchayat Orlim, Salcete and ward no.6 of village Panchayat Morpirla, taluka Quepem, South Goa district and general election to village Panchayat Harvalem, taluka Bicholim, North Goa district in the State of Goa. 

• The paid holiday will be for Industrial workers, daily wage workers of the Government Departments and State Government Industrial Departments, Commercial and Industrial workers of private establishments, workers of all private establishments and daily wage/casual workers employed in any business, trade, industrial undertakings or any other establishment provided they are the voters for the bye-election.
