The Tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation on October 15, 2024, issued the Electrical Safety Mechanisms.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Installation of ELCB near the service main for electrical connection in houses can avoid accidents due to electrical leakage in houses.
• Grinder Mixer, motor, iron box, etc should use only three pin plugs with earth connection.
• Erection of electrical fence on agricultural land is a criminal offense under the law. As it can lead to electrocution and death to people and pedestrians.
• Electricity Board officials should be approached to cut tree branches near overhead power lines.
• Cattle should not be tied to an electric pole or its supporting wires.
