The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on October 08, 2024, issued the Solar Thermal Systems, Devices and Components (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
This shall come into force on April 13, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Order 2 states that this shall apply to goods or articles (Solar Flat Plate Collector for Solar Water Heating Systems, All Glass Evacuated Tubes Solar Water Heating System, and Storage Water Tank for All Glass Evacuated Tubes Solar Water Heating Systems) specified in the Schedule annexed to this Order, but shall not apply to goods or articles meant for export.
• Order 3 states the conformity to Indian standards and compulsory use of Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards.
• Order 4 states the Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority.
• Order 5 states the Penalty for contravention under section 29 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
