The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on October 16, 2024, notified regarding the amendment in the Export Policy condition of Cough Syrup under Chapter 30 of Schedule-II (Export Policy) of ITC (HS) 2022.
The following has been revised namely: -
• It states that Cough Syrup exports require testing and a Certificate of Analysis from designated laboratories in India unless exported to specific countries (USA, UK, Canada, EU, Japan, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, and Switzerland) that have approved the manufacturing plants.
• It further states that if the syrup is made in an approved facility, it can be exported without testing.
