The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on October 18, 2024, issued a Consultation Paper on Regulatory framework for Ground-based Broadcasters.
The following has been stated: -
•TRAI has issued a consultation paper on a regulatory framework for ground-based broadcasters, seeking comments from stakeholders by November 15, 2024.
•This move aims to update regulations for television broadcasters using ground-based technologies, rather than traditional satellite broadcasting.
•The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) requested TRAI to review and provide fresh recommendations on this framework, as the context has changed since TRAI's initial recommendations in 2014.
•The Counter-comments can be submitted by November 29, 2024.
