The Government of Kerala on October 17, 2024, issued the notification regarding the extend the lifespan of the fishing vessel.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The notification issued under G.O.(P)No. 41/2022/F&PD dated December 19, 2022 and published as S.R.O.No.1227/2022 in the Kerala Extraordinary Gazette No.4335 dated December 21, 2022 has been amended
• The lifespan of the fishing vessel has been extended
• Subject to the production of condition survey certificate (seaworthiness certificate) issued by the Fisheries Department after the expiry of the normal life span of fishing vessel so applied and for the extension beyond the extended lifespan annually, after conducting survey by the surveyors empanelled and appointed by the Fisheries Department and in the fishing vessels, and the workers shall have valid membership in Kerala Fishermen Welfare Fund Board and details thereon.
• In the said order, in Schedule II, in the proviso, in item (ii) and (iii), the following items shall respectively be substituted, namely: -
“(ii) Production of condition survey certificate (seaworthiness certificate) issued by the Fisheries Department after the expiry of the normal life span of fishing vessel so applied and for the extension beyond the extended lifespan annually, after conducting survey by the surveyors empanelled and appointed by Fisheries Department.
(iii) in the fishing vessels, the workers shall have valid membership in Kerala Fishermen Welfare Fund Board and details thereon.”
