The Government of Uttar Pradesh on September 26, 2024, issued the Draft Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation (Regulation of Sky Signs and Advertisements) Rules, 2024.
The following provisions have been stated:
• Conditions for granting permission:
The permission to erect, exhibit, display, stuck, paste, write, draw, or hang an advertisement or a hoarding shall be granted on the terms and conditions, that:
o The successful bidder/executioner shall not advertise on locations other than the those mentioned in the bid document;
o The advertiser shall put details of every location advertised by him with geo-tag data and pictures on Municipal Corporation website/e-nagar sewa portal or any other as prescribed by the Municipal Commissioner;
o The permission shall be effective only for the period for which it was granted, if fee or fee with premium has been paid and deposited in the Municipal Fund, in accordance with these rules;
• Grounds for rejection of applications:
Every application for obtaining permission under rule 5 may be rejected on any one or more of the following grounds, that:
o The application does not contain the requisite information and details or is not in conformity with these rules.
o The proposed advertisement is likely to create breach of public peace or tranquillity or is against public policy and unity;
o The proposed advertisement is likely to cause damage to life or property during storm or hurricane;
Objections and suggestions, if any, shall be sent in writing to the Pramukh Sachiv, Nagar Vikas Anubhag 9, Bapu Bhawan, and Lucknow or on email id: [email protected].
Only those objections and suggestions as are received within 30 days from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette, shall be taken into consideration.
