The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on October 18, 2024, issued the Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, toxins and Residues) First Amendment Regulations, 2024 to further amend the Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, toxins and Residues) Regulations, 2011.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In regulation 2.2 relating to crop contaminants and naturally occurring toxic substances, in sub-regulation 2.2.1, in clause 1, in the Table.-
o against serial number 4 relating to Ochratoxin A, for the entries in columns (3) and (4), the following has been substituted.
o against serial number 6 relating to Deoxynivalenol, for the entries in columns (3) and (4), the following has been substituted.
• In regulation 2.3, in sub-regulation 2.3.2, the clause has been amended for clauses (2) to (4).
They shall come into force on April 01, 2025.
