The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on October 18, 2024, issued a Draft Discussion Paper on the Methodology for Capacity Credit of Generation Resources & Coincident Peak Requirement of Utilities under the Resource Adequacy Framework.
The following has been stated: -
•The CEA has drafted a discussion paper on methodologies for assessing capacity credit of various generation resources, including renewables, as mandated by the Ministry of Power's Resource Adequacy framework.
•The paper emphasizes the significance of capacity credit for grid stability and aids utilities in calculating their contributions to national peak requirements.
•Stakeholders are invited to provide comments by November 04, 2024, to inform the finalization of the document.
