The Government of Kerala on October 14, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Scheme, Free Medical Treatment and Accidental Disability Insurance.
It is given to the Inter-State Migrant Workmen aged between 18 and 60 years employed in State of Kerala.
Under the Scheme, individuals must provide proof of Aadhaar possession or undergo Aadhaar authentication to receive benefits. Those without Aadhaar must apply for enrolment at an authorized centre. The Department, through its Implementing Agency, will provide enrolment facilities, especially where centres are unavailable. Until Aadhaar is assigned, beneficiaries can receive benefits by presenting an Aadhaar enrolment slip along with an accepted identification document (e.g., PAN card, passport, voter ID, etc.).
If Aadhaar authentication fails due to poor biometrics, alternative methods like iris scan, face authentication, or Aadhaar OTP may be used. In cases where these are also unsuccessful, benefits may be provided by verifying the physical Aadhaar letter. The Department is responsible for making arrangements to ensure no eligible beneficiary is denied benefits, as per the DBT Mission's guidelines.
