The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on October 21, 2024, notified regarding the urgent implementation of Aadhaar Seeding for Insured Persons (IPs), ESIC Employees, and Pensioners.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has observed a significant and unacceptable decline in daily Aadhaar seeding counts across all Regional and Sub-Regional Offices, necessitating immediate corrective action to ensure service delivery and operational efficiency.
• To address this critical issue, all concerned shall promptly implement the following provisions from ESIC HO:
o IP Portal: insured persons can seed their Aadhaar details via OTP authentication.
o Employer Portal: it enables employers to generate new Insurance Numbers and seed Aadhaar numbers for existing insured persons and their dependents using OTP or biometric verification.
o Bulk Aadhaar Seeding for Employers: employers can now simplify the Aadhaar seeding process by using Bulk Aadhaar Seeding to upload a predefined template with Aadhaar and mobile numbers of insured persons and their beneficiaries, streamlining the process for multiple IPs and reducing manual effort, with strong encouragement for quicker completion.
o "AAA+" mobile app: it provides a convenient tool for insured persons to seed their Aadhaar and that of their family members using OTP or face authentication, reducing reliance on OTP and biometric verification, with ESIC staff expected to promote and assist in its use.
