The Indian Nursing Council (INC) on October 21, 2024, issued the Indian Nursing Council (M.Sc. in Forensic Nursing Program) Regulations, 2023.
The following has been stated:
• Objectives:
On completion of M.Sc. in Forensic Nursing Program, the graduates will be able to:
o Apply specialized knowledge and principles of nursing and forensic science in promotion of health care and safety in the community.
o Demonstrate specialist competencies in the practice of forensic nursing.
o Practice as a nurse expert in providing specialized care to patients who are victims of violence and trauma including investigation of trauma and death.
o Demonstrate leadership competencies and function effectively as a nurse consultant, educator/manager in forensic care settings.
o Develop and promote interface with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and criminal justice system of India.
This notification will come into force from October 21, 2024.
