The Government of Manipur on October 18, 2024, notified recommendation of the State Advisory Board on Minimum Wages.
The categories of employees employed in the employments as detailed in the Schedules are hereby published as required by clause (b) of sub- section (1) of section 5 of the said Act for information of all persons likely to be affected thereafter and the notice is hereby given that the said proposal shall be taken into consideration after the expiry for a period of 60(Sixty) days from the date of publication on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which the said notification is published, are made available to the public.
• Employment in Agriculture.
• Employment on Construction or Maintenance of Roads or in Building Operations.
• Employment in Public Motor Transport.
• Employment in Shops and Establishments.
• Employment in Dam Construction and Irrigation Works.
• Employment in Water Supply (Operation, Maintenance of Water Treatment and Distribution System), Sanitation and Drainage
The minimum wages is proposed to be increased every 6 (six) months by the Government by adding Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) to the revised minimum wages.
There will be no difference between the rate of wages of man and woman employee.
Minimum rate of wages for persons below 18 years of age or disabled persons shall be 100% of the minimum rate of wages applicable to the adult employee of the corresponding categories as specified in the Schedules.
