The Government of Uttar Pradesh on October 07, 2024, issued a Draft Uttar Pradesh Global Capability Centres Policy 2024.
Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have evolved from cost-saving back-office units to critical strategic assets for multinational corporations, driving innovation in areas like AI, cybersecurity, and data analytics. India, particularly, has become a global leader in this sector, contributing significantly to its economy and job market. The domestic GCC market is projected to reach $110 billion by 2030, with over 2.5 million jobs anticipated, solidifying India's position as a global technology hub.
Uttar Pradesh, with its strategic location and young workforce, aims to capitalize on this growth by attracting GCC investments. The state is focusing on developing infrastructure, offering financial incentives, and enhancing its talent pool to become a preferred destination for high-value digital services and advanced technology sectors such as AI and data analytics. Major companies like BDO India have already chosen Noida as a GCC site, further boosting the state’s profile.
The Uttar Pradesh government envisions becoming a global leader in hosting GCCs by promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. The state plans to create over 5 lakh jobs through more than 1000 new GCCs, and by improving urban infrastructure, educational facilities, and healthcare, it aims to attract professionals and their families, contributing to regional development and reducing income disparities across Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III cities.
