Labour Compliance The Government of Tamil Nadu on October 23, 2024, issued a notification Declaration of Newsprint and Paper Manufacturing Industry as public utility service under the Industrial Disputes Act.

This decision, made in the interest of public welfare, invokes the powers under section 2(n)(vi) of the Act. As a result, the industry will hold this status for six months, starting from the date of the notification's publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
