The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on October 24, 2024, issued a notification regarding amendments to DP Operating Instructions Chapter – 10.
The following has been stated: -
•CDSL has amended its DP Operating Instructions to include a process for obtaining a new account closure request form from beneficial owners (BOs) if demat accounts remain in "To be closed" status for over a year.
•This applies between the initial request and the activation of ISIN/balances.
•The changes are detailed in Annexure A, and DPs are required to ensure compliance.
