Labour ComplianceThe Finance (Pay Research Unit) Department, Kerala on October 26, 2024, issued a notification regarding the increase in Dearness Allowance and Relief for UGC/AICTE Teaching Staff and Pensioners.

The following has been stated: -

•The government has announced an increase in Dearness Allowance for teaching staff under UGC/AICTE/Medical Education schemes, raising it from 31% to 34% for those on the revised scale from January 01, 2016, and from 196% to 203% for those on the 6th scale from January 01, 2006. 

•Similarly, UGC pensioners will see their Dearness Relief increased to 34% for revised pensions and to 203% for non-revised pensions. 

•The new rates will take effect with salaries for October 2024 and pensions for November 2024.
