Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on October 30, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Disposal of gold - revised mapping of Customs jurisdictions to Focal Customs Commissionerate (FCC) and Indian Government (IG) Mints.

The following has been stated: -

•The directive updates the procedure for disposing of seized or confiscated gold, indicating that, for operational reasons, gold from Customs Zones in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will now be processed by IG Mint, Mumbai, instead of IG Mint, Hyderabad. 

•This change modifies the previous instructions regarding gold disposal as outlined in Instructions No. 27/2021 and 22/2022. The table detailing Focal Customs Commissionerates has been revised accordingly.
