The Government of Goa on October 29, 2024, issued a temporary restriction on liquor transport within a 5-kilometer radius of the Maharashtra State border from 5:00 p.m. on November 18, 2024, to 6:00 p.m. on November 20, 2024, and on November 23, 2024. This restriction coincides with polling and vote counting days for the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha General Election 2024.
During this period, individuals may possess a limited quantity of liquor without a permit:
Indian/foreign liquor: Up to three quart bottles (excluding beer) and six bottles of 650 ml beer.
Country liquor: Up to three quart bottles.
This notification is effective only for the specified dates and area near the Maharashtra border.
