The Ministry Of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPS&W) on October 29, 2024, issued the Inland Vessels (Central Database and Allied Matters) Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated:
• Form of central database:
The central database referred to in clause (f) of section 3 of the Act shall contain the following data and details in electronic form, namely:
o Application for conducting survey of vessel;
o Declaration to be issued by the surveyor;
o Record of equipment and vessel information;
o Application for provisional certificate of survey;
• Powers to issue directions:
The competent authority shall issue directions regarding the qualifications, criteria and other terms and conditions for selection and appointment of nodal officer for the purposes of these rules.
This notification will come into force from October 29, 2024.
