Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunication (DoT) on November 01, 2024, issued a notice for seeking stakeholder inputs on the DFC (Draft for Comments) of Indian Telecom Security Assurance Requirements (ITSAR) for Feedback Device.

The following has been stated: -

•The Central Government has amended the Indian Telegraph Rules to mandate testing and certification of telecom equipment under new rules (Rule 528-537). 

•The Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC) introduced the MTCTE procedure, requiring equipment to meet Essential Requirements, including security. 

•The National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) is responsible for security testing and certification. An online meeting will be held for stakeholder feedback on the Draft ITSAR, with comments due by November 21, 2024.
