Labour ComplianceThe Government of Uttar Pradesh on September 26, 2024, notified regarding the exemption of IT and ITES Establishments in the State for two years from Sections 6 and 7 of the Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhisthan Adhiniyam, 1962.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states the exemption of IT and ITES Establishments from Sections 6 and 7 of the said act for Two Years, subject to certain conditions:

o No employer shall require an employee to work more than six hours for young persons (14-18 years) and twelve hours for other employees, including rest intervals.

o If an employee works over 48 hours a week, the excess is considered overtime, and the employee shall be paid twice the ordinary wage rate for overtime hours.

o Overtime work shall not exceed 125 hours in any quarter, defined as three months starting on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, or October 1st.
