The UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on October 28, 2024, issued a notification regarding the declaration of Special Allowance under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The following has been stated: -
•In addition to the Basic Pay, the daily rate of Special Allowance payable based on cost of living index number is hereby increased at the rate of 35.00 per day in respect of all the employments in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
•Thus, the minimum rates of wages payable per day are specified in respect of all the employments in the schedule to the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
It shall be effective from April 01, 2024.
