The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on November 05, 2024, issued the Guidelines and Procedures for submission of satellite network filings to ITU by Indian Entities.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This document provides guidelines and procedures for submission of satellite network filings to International Telecommunication Union by the Indian Entities. This document also provides an insight to the procedures to be followed by WPC Wing for processing such satellite network filing application for onward submission to ITU, and identify the coordination requirements at the national level to effect coordination by the Indian Entity with satellite network filings already approved by the Government, and satellite operators.
• An applicant who has obtained ‘Advisory Note' from IN-SPACe, shall only submit the satellite network filings in the stipulated ITU format to WPC Wing for further processing.
