The Union Territory of Lakshadweep on November 08, 2024, issued Draft UT of Lakshadweep Islands Logistics Policy 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•The logistics sector in Lakshadweep faces challenges due to poor infrastructure and high costs, hindering its economic growth. Lakshadweep is an archipelago of 36 islands with a total area of 32 sq. km and a population of 64,741.
•The lack of quality logistics infrastructure puts the UT at a competitive disadvantage. To address this, the Lakshadweep Islands Logistics Policy 2024 aims to improve logistics facilities, attract private investment, and enhance skills and technology adoption in the sector.
•Stakeholders including logistics companies, local communities, and environmental experts are invited to provide feedback on the Draft by December 15, 2024.
