The Government of Goa on November 08, 2024, issued the Societies Registration (Goa Amendment) Act, 2023 to further amend the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Section 20AA which states “Power of the Government to appoint Administrator” has been inserted namely: -
“If the Government, on receipt of a report from the Inspector General or otherwise, is satisfied that: -
(a) there is a need to secure proper management of the business of the society generally, or
(b) there is a need for preventing the affairs of the society from being conducted in a manner detrimental to the interest of the members”
This shall come into force on November 08, 2024.
