The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on November 13, 2024, issued a notification regarding mandatory PAN Compliance for FSSAI License/Registration.
The following has been stated: -
•FSSAI has made PAN mandatory for new licenses, registrations, renewals, and modifications, effective from October 22, 2024, in the FoSCOS portal.
•Existing food business operators (FBOs) must update their PAN details if renewal or modification is not imminent.
•FBOs without a PAN must provide a declaration. Businesses are also advised to keep their contact details updated for FSSAI communications.
