The Ministry of Defence (MoD) on November 11, 2024, issued the Clement Town Cantonment Board Solid Waste Management Bye-laws, 2024.
This shall come into force from November 12, 2024.
The following provisions have been stated: -
• Segregation and storage of solid waste at source
• Collection of solid waste
• Storage of solid waste in the secondary storage points
• Recycling centres for dry waste (Non-biodegradable waste)
• Deposition centre for specified domestic hazardous waste
• Transportation of solid waste
• Processing of solid waste
• Other guidelines for processing of solid waste
• Disposal of solid waste
• User fee for collection, transportation and disposal of solid waste
• Penalty for contravention
• These bye-laws shall be applicable within the territorial limits of the Clement Town Cantonment.
