The Bureau of Indian Standards, (BIS) on November 14, 2024, notified the K Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
The following has been stated-
It shall come into force on the expiry of one hundred and eighty days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
It shall apply to goods or article specified in column (1) of the Schedule annexed to this Order and shall not apply to such goods or article meant for export.
Goods or article specified in column (1) of the said Schedule shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard specified in column (2) of the said Schedule and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods specified in the schedule. For the product K Acid, the applicable Indian Standard is IS 11557:1986, titled "Specification for 2-Naphthylamine-3:6:8-Trisulphonic, technical."
