The Government of Rajasthan on November 18, 2024, issued a notification regarding the waiver of Stamp Duty on Loan Agreements for Public Service.
The following has been stated: -
•In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9(1) of the Rajasthan Stamp Act, 1998, the State Government, in the public interest, has issued an order waiving stamp duty on loan agreement instruments executed for fresh loans or the renewal of existing loans taken by government entities, such as companies, corporations, societies, development authorities, municipalities, or town improvement trusts, for public service or the welfare of the State.
•This waiver is applicable to loan agreements executed until March 31, 2030.
•However, stamp duty already paid on such agreements will not be refunded.
