The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on November 19, 2024, issued the Electric Fence Energizers (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
The following has been stated:
• Compulsory use of Standard Mark - Goods or articles specified in column (2) of the Table shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard specified in column (3) of the Table and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-ll to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018 from the date specified in the corresponding entry under column (5) of the Table:
Provided that the small enterprises and micro enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006) shall conform to such Indian Standards from the date specified in the corresponding entry under columns (6) and (7) of the Table respectively:
Provided further that nothing in this Order shall apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export.
• Certification and enforcement authority - The Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles specified in the column (2) of the Table.
• Penalty for contravention - Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
