Industry Specific ComplianceThe University Grants Commission (UGC), November 20, 2024, issued a notification regarding implementing UGC Guidelines on pursuing two academic programmes simultaneously.

The UGC highlighted challenges faced by students in enrolling in two academic programs simultaneously, a provision introduced in guidelines issued on 13 April 2022. Despite reminders dated 30 September 2022 and 10 January 2023, many Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) continue to demand migration or school leaving certificates for admission, hindering dual enrollment.

The UGC emphasized that this practice undermines the guidelines' intent and reiterated its call for HEIs to establish supportive mechanisms through statutory bodies to ensure smooth implementation. Institutions are urged to comply promptly to enable students to benefit fully from this initiative.
