The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on November 21, 2024, issued the Telecommunications (Telecom Cyber Security) Rules, 2024.
This shall come into force from November 21, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 2 lays down various definitions of the terms like telecommunication entity and telecommunication equipment identification number.
• Rule 3 specifies Collection, sharing, and analysis of data.
• Rule 4 specifies Obligations relating to telecom cyber security.
• Rule 5 specifies Measures to protect and ensure telecom cyber security.
• Rule 8 specifies Obligations relating to telecommunication identifiers and telecommunication equipment.
