Industry Specific ComplianceThe National E-Governance Services Ltd. (NeSL) on November 25, 2024, issued a circular regarding Minimum Stamp Duty in the State of Tamil Nadu.

The following has been stated: -

•The minimum stamp duty for digital e-stamping in Tamil Nadu has been set to Rs 20 for all articles, effective from November 26, 2024, as per the instructions from Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SCHIL). 

•This applies to transactions involving registered banks and NBFCs. For non-debt-related documents, the DDE service is available only if one party is a Financial Service Provider or a Government Department.
