The Ministry of Defence (MoD) on November 22, 2024, issued the Pune Cantonment Board Solid Waste Management Bye-laws, 2024.
The following provisions have been stated:
• Segregation and storage of solid waste at the source
• Collection of solid waste
• Storage of solid waste in the secondary storage points
• Recycling centres for dry waste (Non-biodegradable waste)
• Deposition centre for specified domestic hazardous waste
• Transportation of solid waste
• Processing of solid waste
• Other guidelines for processing solid waste
• Disposal of Solid waste
• User fee for collection, transportation and disposal of solid waste
• Penalty for contravention
These bylaws shall be applicable within the territorial limits of the Pune Cantonment.
They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
