The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on November 25, 2024, issued a show cause notice to registered PIBOs for non-compliance of the Annual Return of PWM Rules, 2016.
The CPCB had issued a show cause notice dated August 19.08, 2024 to PIBOs for filing of Annual Return for FY 2022-23 before September 01, 2024 or else their Annual Return shall be auto-filed and actions including levying of EC & increase of EPR target for FY 2023-24 by 25% as penalty, shall be taken against them in line with the provisions of PWM Rules, 2016, as amended; and (For Units registered during FY 2022-23 and who have not filed AR for FY 2022-23 List placed at Annexure-1)
It is observed that AR for FY 2022-23 has not been filed by your organization; and (For Units registered during FY 2022-23 and who have not filed AR for FY 2022-23 List placed at Annexure-1)
The CPCB had issued a notice dated July 01, 2024, wherein the last date of filing of AR by registered PIBOs for FY 2023-24 was extended till September 30, 2024, which was subsequently extended up to November 30, 2024; and (For Units registered during FY 2022- 24 for AR FY 2023-24)
In view of the above, the following directions have been stated:
• File Annual Report fulfilling your EPR obligations for FY 2023-24 by November 30, 2024, on the EPR portal along with the Annual Processing Charges.
The Units are hereby given the opportunity to comply with the above direction on or before November 30, 2024. faling which EC as stated above shall be levied on your Unit. Failure to take action may also attract action against the Unit under the provision of the Environmental (Protection) Act, 1986.
