The Government of Maharashtra on November 27, 2024, notified regarding the government resolution on Fair and Remunerative Prices (FRP) for Sugarcane Crushing Season 2024-2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that until the final sugar extract for the 2024-2025 season is determined, the initial FRP payment for sugarcane shall be based on a provisional sugar extract rate of 10.25% for Pune and Nashik regions, and 9.50% for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Amravati, and Nagpur regions.
• It further states the sugarcane rates for the 2024-2025 season,
o the initial FRP rate for sugarcane is set at ₹340 per quintal for a sugar recovery of 10.25%.
o for each 0.1% increase in sugar recovery above 10.25%, an additional ₹3.32 per quintal will be paid.
o for sugar recovery below 10.25% but above 9.50%, a reduction of ₹3.32 per quintal will apply, with a minimum rate of ₹315.10 per quintal for sugar recovery at or below 9.50%
